Your Kid's Urgent Care is open 7 days a week. Currently, the Vestavia location is open Monday - Friday 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm; and Saturday and Sunday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm.

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Clinic Manager supports the Clinic Manager in ensuring daily operations are smooth and effective while making certain the clinic is delivering the highest level of service to clients. Assists with staffing, marketing, building maintenance and inventory. Promotes a team-based approach to patient care. As such, this position will also assist with medical duties as needed. Supports Clinical Trainer in educating employees at new and existing clinics.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures the clinic is staffed during hours of operation. Creates work schedules and communicates to employees.
  • Assists with clinical duties as needed.
  • Supervises employees, provides training, gives input for performance management, and helps resolve employee issues. Leads staff meetings when needed.
  • Assists Clinical Trainer in training new employees prior to the opening of new clinics.
  • Takes initiative to create solutions, solve problems, generate revenue and decrease expenses.
  • Markets company to potential business partners and customers.
  • Monitors patient wait times and removes impediments to timely patient flow.
  • Helps ensure that the clinic complies with Federal/State laws.
  • Acts as liaison between patients, their families and medical staff.
  • Assists with billing system and inventory management.
  • Orders stock and supplies for the clinic.
  • Assists with maintenance and repair of clinic equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

BS/BA degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Services Administration, or similar from a four-year accredited university or college; plus, two years of related experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to supervise and motivate clinic staff to perform their duties efficiently.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to ensure that quality services are provided.
  • A basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology.
  • Ability to effectively work within company’s EMR (EMDs) and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Analytical thinking skills and the ability to exercise sound judgement when making decisions
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Good interpersonal skills for liaising with patients, families, healthcare providers as well as the public.
  • Ability to quickly learn all facets of clinic management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
